Memory erasing is the ability to remove the memories of others.
Characters[]
- Brody Calwin-Fletcher possesses this ability naturally.
- Ava Brook also has this ability naturally.
- Peter Petrelli has mimicked this ability from Ava.
Limits[]
Brody Calwin-Fletcher[]
Brody is able to remove memories from a person when he has physical contact with them. Upon physical contact, he can see the memories of a person and can choose which ones to erase. He cannot replace what he removes with any false memories, and therefore if he takes enough the person will be left with holes in his or her memory, which could be conspicuous. Brody can also choose to remove all memories from a person, leaving a 'blank slate' and enabling the person to potentially start his or her life afresh. The memories which are erased are removed from the person forever, and Brody doesn't keep them himself. They cannot be healed back or regained through rapid cellular regeneration, but could possibly be returned by a memory manipulator. Panmnesia however gives immunity to this ability. Brody has great control over this ability and can select specific details of memories to remove, such as all memories of a specific person, location and object.
Ava Brook[]
Ava can delete any memories from the minds of others and can also remove her own. She consciously chooses which memories she erases, and can remove memories of personal experiences, recognition of faces, emotions and emotional attachments, knowledge of facts and skills learned. She can remove enough to make a person completely ignorant of his or her true identity, or unable to even walk and talk properly. She doesn't need physical contact to erase memories, but she does produce a brief flash of light when she deletes them.
Peter Petrelli[]
Peter has similar limits to Ava. He can also erase memories using mental manipulation.
