Origin[]
New blood Atari are Atari who were originally human and who have no Atari ancestry. They change species during the second or third decade of their life usually, though there can be a few exceptions to this. The change is usually physically painful, and also includes an immense energy rush and the appearance of an Atari Mark. The reason for the change is currently unknown, and there doesn't seem to be any marker, genetic or hereditary tendency, or any linked circumstances connecting all occurrences.
Appearance[]
All Atari, both new blood and old blood, look completely human. They are only distinguishable by a Mark present somewhere on the body, which consists of two lines intersecting: one vertical and one diagonal. In new blood Atari, the Mark will appear when they undergo the change, stop being human and become Atari.
Feeding[]
All Atari feed off the emotions of others. They can eat, breathe and drink at will, but none of these are essential for life, and are usually only continued out of habit, or when pretending to be human. Only emotions and the presence of others are essential for life and sustenance. Atari can sense these emotions and describe them as tastes. Positive emotions are usually detected as sweet or pleasant tastes, while negative emotions are bitter.
New Blood Atari Gifts[]
New blood Atari are much weaker than most old blood Atari. They only possess two or three powers each. These powers can be any simple powers, including alternating or replicating ones, but nothing which could alter reality too drastically or mimic the effects of too many powers. The abilities don't run in families in any particular way, meaning that if 2 siblings were both changed into Atari, it would be unlikely that they'd have the same powers, or even similar ones. However, a new blood Atari's child would inherit their abilities as well as having his or her own one, since he or she would be old blood.
