Nieve Brook

Nieve as an infant

Nieve Aletta Brook is a character used by Lowri in World 11: Villains. She will be the youngest daughter of Cierra and Timothy Brook, making her the younger sister of Ava, Gabrielle, Louisa and Catalina Brook. She and Catalina will be twins. She will possess the abilities of Oneiric Shield, Persuasion, Emotion Olfaction and Wing Production.

Appearance

Nieve as an adult

Nieve will have dark brown eyes. At first, her hair will be a medium brown, but as she ages it will darken and become black. It will also be thick and she will have it down to waist length. Her sister Catalina will have the same eye and hair colours throughout their lives. They will also always be the same height, though Nieve will be stronger and more curvaceous in build as an adult. Her taste in clothing and accessories will be slightly eccentric in times and she will like to experiment.

Abilities

An attempt to manipulate dreams is blocked

Nieve's first ability will be Oneiric Shield. She will be able to use this ability to shield her dreams. She will be able to protect them from outside interference, preventing others from altering them using abilities like hypnokinesis or dream manipulation, even preventing people from spying upon her dreams. She will later learn to block bad dreams which occur naturally. However, she won't be able to control the contents of dreams more finely than that, unlike someone who possesses lucid dreaming, and she won't be able to affect the dreams of others at all.

Persuading someone to let her go

Her second ability will be Persuasion. This ability will enable her to force others to do her bidding using verbal commands. Her commands must be spoken out and heard, meaning that if Nieve were gagged or muted, or if someone couldn't hear her, she would be incapable of persuading them. She will also be unable to persuade anyone who is deaf, or anyone who doesn't speak the same language as her.  Her voice will deepen when she uses the ability, and will sometimes also sound as if it has an echoing effect. Nieve will manifest this ability when she speaks her first words.

Smelling anger

Her third ability will be Emotion Olfaction. Nieve will be able to smell the emotions of others. She will be able to identify the emotions, since each emotion would have a distinct scent, and she could also identify the person experiencing that emotion, since the person's individual scent would also affect it. Her own emotions will not interfere with the use of the ability, since she won't be able to scent them. However, the ability will not give immunity to itself. It will work constantly.

Giving a man wings

Her fourth and final ability will be Wing Production. Nieve will be capable of giving wings to herself and to others, and using these wings to fly. Her own wings will always be made out of dark brown feathers. Other people's wings will vary in appearance, but each individual's wings will always look the same way. She will need physical contact with a person to make the wings emerge. Because of this, she will develop the habit of tapping her own shoulders before flying, even though she won't need the contact in her own case. The wings will disappear entirely when the ability is not in use, leaving no mark at all.

Etymology

Nieve is a Spanish name meaning "snow" or "born in snow". It can also be considered a variant of Neve or Niambh, a Gaelic name meaning "bright" or "radiant". Her middle name, Aletta, is a Spanish name meaning "winged one". This could be a reference to her final ability of wing production. Her surname, Brook, is English and means "brook, stream", usually a reference to a family which had lived near water.
