Speed manipulation is the ability to manipulate the speed at which objects, people and time move.

Elliott Petrelli[]
Elliott's main use of this ability will be to increase his own speed, running at speeds comparable to enhanced speed. He'll be able to use this to improve his reactions and strengthen his attacks, and will also be able to increase and decrease the speeds of others. He'll also be able to decrease his own speeds, e.g. to lessen the impact of a fall. In addition to affecting running speed, he'll be able to manipulate the speed of time - speeding it up to travel through time, and slowing it down to effectively freeze a scene - and he will be able to manipulate ageing. In his case, the ability will be derived from his mother and grandfather's time and space manipulation and his grandmother and aunt's enhanced speed.
Roland Summers[]
Roland's main use of the ability was to speed up his own movement, enabling him to move so quickly that he appeared to blur. It also quickened his reflexes and reactions, enabled him to jump higher and gave him slightly more strength upon impact because of the speed. He could affect the speed of others too, either amplifying them or slowing them, but he did this more rarely. He could also use the ability to time travel by speeding up time, and to accelerate a person or object's age, but however he only ever used it to age up inanimate, inorganic objects and materials such as metal doors, in order to decay them and make them easier to break down.
Mara Masahashi[]
Mara will be capable of manipulating the speed of movement, time, thought and age. She will be able to increase her own speed until she moves as fast as someone with enhanced speed, and could enable others to do this too. She will also be able to decrease speed, preventing someone from moving. Additionally, she will be able to make a person more or less quick thinking, and will be able to increase someone's age by rapidly advancing the speed of their ageing. She will be able to use the ability to time travel too. It will be derived from her father's ability of enhanced speed.
