Valerie as a child
Valerie Bryce Hathaway is a character used by Lowri in the future of World 11: Villains. She will be the eldest adoptive daughter of Elle Parkman and Lilly Hathaway. She will possess the abilities of Elucidation, Neuronal Vampirism, Metamorphing and X Ray Vision.
Appearance[]
Valerie as an adult
Valerie will have light brown eyes and brown hair with a hint of red in it. Her hair will darken slightly as she ages but will retain this touch of redness. Her skin tone will always be pale. She will have a round face. As a child she will often be playing around with her appearance using her ability of metamorphing.
Abilities[]
Understanding how to repair a broken watch
Valerie's first ability will be Elucidation. It will be derived from her biological mother's intuitive aptitude. This ability will let her understand and explain the workings of any system. It will enable her to understand all machinery, and to some extent understand the variables of time and cause-and-effect. She could easily comprehend all human behaviour, what motivates a person, and could identify an ability and its strengths and weaknesses. She could also use it to interpret events, to accurately predict the effects of her actions, and to fight more effectively by improving her tactics.
Paralysing a man and gaining strength from his neuronal impulses
Her second ability will be Neuronal Vampirism. This ability will enable her to gain energy and strength by draining the impulses from people's motor neurons. It will require skin contact for use, and will temporarily paralyse the individual it is used upon. Valerie will be able to use the energy she gains to increase her own strength or speed, or or to heal or sustain herself.
Changing her appearance
Her third ability will be Metamorphing. Valerie will be capable of manipulating her body's cells in order to change her appearance and form. When she first manifests, she will only be able to affect physical appearance, but later on she will learn to manipulate the cells in her throat and mouth in order to alter her voice, and afterwards manipulate age and health too. She will be able to mimic another's appearance closely, though not perfectly, since she wouldn't mimic anything she wasn't aware of. She will be able to give herself unnatural colourings and features, and will occasionally give herself spiked horns, claws or wings.
Seeing through layers of skin
Her fourth and final ability will be X Ray Vision. Valerie's ability will enable her to see clearly through different substances and materials. When she first manifests, the ability will function specifically as an X ray, enabling her to see bone and metal, though it will never harm others the way excess exposure to X rays can. She will later learn to control the ability and choose what materials or objects she looks through.

Valerie's biological mother will possess the ability of intuitive aptitude. Once she learns of her pregnancy she will decide immediately to give the child up for adoption, since she will know that abilities can run in families and she will fear being tempted to harm her own child. Valerie will then be adopted by Elle and Lilly.
Etymology[]
Valerie is a Latin name meaning "to be healthy, strong". This refers to the strength and energy she can gain using her neuronal vampirism. Her middle name, Bryce, is a French name meaning "dappled, freckled". However, she will never possess any freckles. Her adoptive surname, Hathaway, is an English name which refers to a person who lived by a path across a heath. This name was chosen as the family surname instead of Parkman so that her older adoptive brother Jason would feel a full part of the family.
